Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about resolving UC share links, downloading videos, troubleshooting errors, and staying safe. If your question is not here, the contact page has the next step.

Getting started

What is UC Video Downloader?

UC Video Downloader is a free browser tool that reads public UC Drive and UC Browser share links, lists the videos inside them, and creates private expiring download links. It also includes an MP4 player so you can preview a file before saving it. The service is independent and is not affiliated with UCWeb.

Is UC Video Downloader really free?

Yes. There is no account, no payment, and no app to install. The service uses fair-use rate limits to stay available for everyone, so very large numbers of requests in a short time may be temporarily paused.

Do I need to log in to UC Drive?

No. Public share links work anonymously. Files that are private to a UC account and are not shared through a public link cannot be accessed, because the tool never asks for your UC password or cookies.

How do I download a video from a UC share link?

Copy the full share link, paste it into the search box, and click Download. After the resolver lists the files, choose a video and click its Download button. You can also click Play to preview it in the built-in MP4 player first.

Downloads

Can I download an entire UC Drive folder?

Yes. Paste the folder share link and the tool lists every video it can access, including videos inside nested subfolders. Each file has its own download button. The tool does not build a ZIP archive, and browsers often block many automatic downloads, so save files one at a time or copy the links into a download manager.

Which video formats are supported?

The resolver can list MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV, AVI, FLV, TS, 3GP, OGV, and similar video files. Playback inside the browser depends on the codecs in the file. MP4 with H.264 and AAC is the most widely supported combination.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in any modern mobile browser. On iPhone, Safari shows the download in its Downloads list. On Android, Chrome saves the file to your Downloads folder. Keep the tab open until the transfer finishes, especially for large videos.

Troubleshooting

Why does it say that no videos were found?

The share may contain only documents, images, or archives, the link may point to a subfolder without videos, or UC may not have finished preparing the video. Open the root folder link, check that the share is public, and try again.

Why is a share password required?

Some UC shares are protected with a password. Add it to the link as ?pwd=YOUR_PASSWORD or enter it in the password field that appears after the first attempt. The password is sent only to UC to unlock the share and is never stored.

Why did my download link expire?

Download links are deliberately short-lived for security. A session lasts about 45 minutes. If a link stops working, paste the share link again to generate fresh links.

Why is the download speed sometimes slow?

Speed depends on UC's storage servers, the file's location, and your own connection. The service streams the original file without re-encoding, so it cannot make the source faster. For very large files, copy the download link into a download manager that supports resume.

Privacy & safety

Does UC Video Downloader store my files or links?

Downloaded files are never stored by this service. Share links are processed in memory to create temporary download tokens. Cloudflare, as the hosting provider, may keep standard security logs such as IP address and request time. Tokens are encrypted and expire automatically.

Can I use the downloaded videos commercially?

Only download and use content that you own or have explicit permission to use. The tool is intended for personal, lawful access to files that were shared with you. You are responsible for respecting copyright and the rights of the people in the videos.

Is UC Video Downloader affiliated with UCWeb?

No. UC Video Downloader is an independent utility. UC, UC Browser, UC Drive, and related marks belong to their respective owners. The tool is not endorsed by or sponsored by UCWeb or Alibaba.
