UC Drive Folder Downloader: Save Every Video in a Shared Folder
Learn how UC Drive folder links work, how nested subfolders are resolved, and how to organize a large shared video collection.
A single UC Drive folder can hold hundreds of videos across many subfolders. Opening the folder link on a phone is easy, but saving the files one by one is slow. This guide explains how the folder resolver works and how to handle large collections without losing track of what you downloaded.
Folder links vs single-file links
| Link type | What it opens | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Folder share | A list of files and subfolders | Collections, courses, archives |
| Single-file share | One video file | A quick clip or movie |
| Direct video URL | A video stream | Files hosted outside UC Drive |
The resolver can tell the difference automatically. If the share root is a folder, it walks the tree. If it is a single file, it returns that file directly.
How the folder resolver works
- It reads the share ID from the link and validates the public share.
- It lists the root folder, then follows every subfolder it finds.
- It filters the results to video files and keeps the original name, size, duration, and resolution.
- When you click a file, it prepares a private session and streams the original bytes to your browser.
Nothing is copied to our own storage. The folder is read only when you paste the link, and the download tokens expire automatically.
Step-by-step
1. Open the folder share link
Copy the link to the folder, not to a file inside it. A folder link usually looks like https://drive.ucweb.com/s/SHARE_ID. If you copied the link from the address bar while inside a subfolder, you may be linking to that subfolder only. Go back to the root folder and copy the link again if you want the whole collection.
2. Let the resolver list the videos
Paste the link and click Download. The first request can take a little longer for a large folder because the resolver may need several pages of results. A progress message appears while it works.
3. Filter and sort
Use the filter box to search by file name. Sort by name or size to bring the files you care about to the top. The counter shows how many videos were found and how many other files were skipped.
4. Download what you need
Each row has a Play button, a Download button, and a copy-link action. Play opens the built-in MP4 player. Download saves the original file. Copy puts a temporary direct link on your clipboard so you can paste it into a download manager.
Why the tool does not create a ZIP file
Creating a ZIP would mean downloading every file through the server, compressing it, and streaming a second copy to you. That doubles the bandwidth, breaks resume support, and is not practical for multi-gigabyte videos. Browsers also block many parallel downloads for good reason. A one-file-at-a-time workflow is faster and more reliable, and it lets you stop when you have what you need.
Handling very large folders
- The resolver processes folders in pages and stops at a safety limit to protect the service.
- If a folder is truncated, the result panel says so. You can still download the files that were listed.
- For collections with thousands of files, ask the owner to split them into smaller folders or use the copy-link action with a desktop download manager.
- Keep an eye on free disk space. A folder of HD videos can easily exceed a phone's storage.
Naming and organizing your downloads
- Download one subfolder at a time and create a matching folder on your device.
- Use the resolution and size columns to avoid saving duplicates.
- Rename files after the download if the original names are hard to read.
- Keep a simple text list of the files you already saved when working through a large collection.
Common folder errors
| Message | Meaning | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No videos found | The folder contains only non-video files or the video tokens are unavailable | Open the root folder and confirm it contains video files |
| Password required | The share is protected | Add ?pwd=... to the link or enter the password |
| Share not found | The link expired, was deleted, or is private | Ask the owner for a fresh public link |
| Link expired | The 45-minute download token timed out | Paste the folder link again to get fresh tokens |
