URL anatomy

How to read a UC share link

A quick breakdown so you can spot a broken link before pasting it.

The share ID is the important part

A typical link looks like https://drive.ucweb.com/s/a7c4e91b2d63. The part after /s/ is the share ID. The resolver needs that ID. Anything before it is the host, and anything after it can be a locale, a password, or a tracking parameter.

Links from the mobile app sometimes use https://uc-share.com/s/.... Both forms are supported. If you paste a raw share ID without a host, the resolver will also accept it as long as it is a valid ID.

Passwords and extra parameters

A protected share may look like https://drive.ucweb.com/s/SHARE_ID?pwd=1234. The pwd value is the share password, not your UC account password. The resolver uses it only to unlock the share. If the password is missing, the page asks for it.

Direct video URLs

A direct video URL points to a video file rather than a share page. It should use HTTPS and end in a video extension such as .mp4 or .mov, or be a signed cloud URL with an expiry and signature. HLS playlists are not supported by the downloader or the player.

Troubleshooting

What to check when a link is rejected

Most rejections are caused by one of these five issues.

SymptomCheck
The link is cut offCopy it again from the original message; the share ID must be complete.
Spaces or line breaksPaste into a plain text field and remove anything that is not part of the URL.
Password promptAsk the owner for the share password, not their UC account password.
Share not foundThe link may be deleted, expired, or private. Request a new public link.
No videos foundThe share may contain only documents or point to a subfolder with no videos.
